Proposed Draft of the Sarasota City Plan, 2008-2030

The proposed draft of the City's 2008-2030 comprehensive plan is presented below. Each chapter of the comprehensive plan, known as the Sarasota City Plan, is accompanied by a support document. The support document is not proposed to be formally adopted by the Sarasota City Commission. Due to the large size of the files, individual links to both the chapters and chapter support documents can be found below.

Newtown Community Meeting of April 10, 2008

Approximately 100 persons attended a community meeting held at the Robert Taylor Center on April 10 to discuss proposed revisions to the Future Land Use Map for the Newtown community. At the end of the meeting, a survey sheet was distributed whereby the City was seeking input about the proposed land use revisions. Of the 23 surveys that were received, 17 (74%)of the respondents indicated they agreed with the proposed land use revisions and 6 (26%)respondents did not agree.

EAR-Based Amendment Workshops

The City Commission and Planning Board held five workshops in the fall of 2007 to review and discuss proposed revisions to the Sarasota City Plan. Videos of those workshops are available on the City Auditor and Clerk's webpage.
